BEN DISKANT is a Composer/Lyricist working in New York City. As a Composer, Ben has written the music for “Judy Moody & Stink,” which kicked off ArtsPower's 2019 - 2020 season (lyrics by Sami Horneff). Additionally with Sami Horneff, he has written “Elinda,” and is developing the musical “The Pirate Princess.” Other works include “Jade Alaska” (commissioned by Theatreworks/USA) with Neena Beber (lyrics/book); “One Swipe Away” with Lindsay Anderson (Winner of the BMI Jean Banks Award); “Down Unda Rescue Sanctuary” and “The Game Room” with Lindsay Anderson and Cassidy Dermott (book/lyrics) both commissioned by the Brooklyn Children's Theatre.
As a Composer/Lyricist, he has written the musicals “Ask, I Will Tell,” and “20/35” (Equity Workshop produced at The Gallery Players in 2015). Ben has performed his songs at 54 Below and with NY Theatre Barn. He is currently in the BMI-Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop (Composer).
As an Actor, Ben has appeared on Broadway, Off-Broadway and in Regional productions all over the country. Education: Northwestern University: Bachelor in Music; The Old Globe/USD: MFA in Acting.
